Hmmm… I can hang clean and split jerk 120#, and at 56 yo I’ll take that. I haven’t mastered my DUs or strict pull-ups - YET - but I’m a work in progress.

About Coach

I’ve been a Solus member for many years now, and one of my favorite accomplishments is completing a Half Marathon for my 50th birthday. When I started toying with the idea, I mentioned to a few of my fellow athletes and they said, “Oh, yeah! You can do this! We’re in!” I didn’t fall down, I didn’t get hurt, I didn’t throw up, and I wasn’t last. Those were big goals for a slow runner who’d never completed a Half before, but my fellow Solus athletes came along side me, trained with me, encouraged me, and showed up to help me live that dream. And as a coach, I have the honor of coming alongside other athletes and helping them accomplish new things and set new goals.

Turning Point

I often tell people that the biggest reason I do CF is for my mental health, and it’s 100% true. Some days, just walking in the door is a win. But every day I show up and just move, I feel much better. And when faced with life’s hard things, I remind myself that it’s like a tough workout that can be broken down into smaller parts. It won’t last forever. And I will finish and get through it. I’m much stronger physically because of CF, but I’m also much stronger mentally.

Motivation & Passion

I’m often called the Box Mom, and that’s a title I’m proud of because I love to encourage, support, push, tease, laugh with, and pour into our athletes. If you walk away after class with a smile on your face and a sense of “yeah, I did that!” then I’m smiling even bigger and celebrating you. We all need someone who not only stands behinds us, but stands next to us and affirms us - and I get to do that every day. I love my box and my people.
